1. Introduction and Scope

This Privacy Policy governs the mobile application Kronlog (Application ID: com.gabrielchoong.kronlog), developed, distributed, and maintained by Gabriel Choong ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our").

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through transparent technical design. This Privacy Policy informs users about our policies regarding the collection, use, disclosure, storage, and deletion of user information when using Kronlog (the "Application").

Kronlog is engineered on a local-first, zero-cloud architecture. We do not collect, monitor, harvest, or transmit your personal data or user-generated content to external servers.

2. Zero Data Collection Architecture

A. Local-Only Processing

Kronlog operates strictly on your local device. Any tasks, to-do items, timestamps, categories, notes, or completion states created or modified within the Application are stored exclusively in the private, sandboxed internal storage assigned to Kronlog by the Android operating system (context.filesDir/todos.json).

B. No Remote Data Transmission

  • No Server Infrastructure: The Developer does not operate, license, or route traffic through any central servers, user databases, or cloud processing pipelines for Kronlog.
  • No Network Permission: The Application does not declare, request, or utilize the android.permission.INTERNET permission in its Android manifest (AndroidManifest.xml). As a structural guarantee enforced by the Android operating system kernel, the Application is physically incapable of transmitting data over the internet or establishing inbound or outbound network connections.

C. Personal and Sensitive Data

Kronlog does not collect, store, process, or transmit any personal or sensitive user data, including but not limited to:

  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as name, physical address, email address, or phone number;
  • Precise or coarse location data;
  • Biometric data or health records;
  • Financial, transaction, or payment data;
  • Contacts, SMS, call logs, photos, media files, or audio recordings;
  • Persistent hardware identifiers, advertising IDs (GAID), MAC addresses, IMEI, or Android ID.

3. Third-Party Services and SDK Disclosures

Kronlog does not incorporate or execute any third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), or tracking libraries. Specifically:

  • No Advertising SDKs: The Application contains no advertisements and integrates no ad-serving networks (such as Google AdMob, Unity Ads, or AppLovin).
  • No Analytics SDKs: The Application does not integrate telemetry or product analytics suites (such as Google Analytics for Firebase, Mixpanel, Segment, or Amplitude).
  • No Crash Reporting Trackers: The Application does not include crash-reporting frameworks that transmit stack traces or device metadata off-device (such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry).

No third party receives, intercepts, or processes any data originating from your use of Kronlog.

4. Account and User Data Deletion Policy

In compliance with Google Play's User Data and Account Deletion policies:

A. Accountless Architecture

Kronlog is an entirely accountless application. You are not required to create an account, log in, configure credentials, or authenticate to use the Application. Because no user profiles or accounts exist, the Developer holds no user credentials or remote account records.

B. Autonomous Data Deletion Mechanics

You maintain exclusive, unencumbered control over your data. All data stored within the Application can be permanently deleted at any time through the following autonomous mechanisms:

  1. Granular In-App Deletion: You can delete individual task items directly within the Kronlog user interface. Deleting an item immediately removes it from the local data file.
  2. Complete Data Erasure via Device Settings: You can permanently purge all stored data, preferences, and Application state by clearing the Application's storage via your device settings:
  3. Navigate to Settings → Apps (or Application Manager) → Kronlog.
  4. Select Storage & cache.
  5. Tap Clear storage (or Clear data).
  6. Application Uninstallation: Uninstalling Kronlog completely removes the Application and its sandboxed internal storage directory from your device, permanently destroying all stored data without any residual traces.

Because all data resides exclusively on your local device hardware, once deleted via the methods above, the data cannot be recovered by the Developer or any third party.

5. Data Security

The security of your information is guaranteed by Android's foundational security model:

  • Operating System Sandboxing: All Application files are isolated within the private directory allocated to com.gabrielchoong.kronlog by the Android kernel. Other applications installed on your device cannot read, write, or access Kronlog's files unless your device's security sandbox has been compromised (e.g., via unauthorized rooting).
  • Atomic File Writes: Internal data persistence utilizes atomic file write operations to protect against file corruption during unforeseen interruptions or system shutdowns.
  • No Transit Risk: Because the Application conducts zero data transmission over external networks, your data is never exposed to man-in-the-middle attacks, packet inspection, or transit-level interception.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA / GDPR Art. 8 / Google Play Families Policy)

Kronlog is designed for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 within the European Economic Area and United Kingdom).

We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal identifiable information from children. Because Kronlog operates entirely offline without network access, user registration, or remote data transmission, no personal information from any user, regardless of age, is ever collected, transmitted, or processed by the Developer.

If a parent or legal guardian has questions or concerns regarding their child's use of Kronlog, they may contact the Developer at dev@gabrielchoong.com.

7. Global Statutory Privacy Disclosures

A. European Economic Area (EEA) and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the processing of personal data requires a lawful basis. Because Kronlog does not collect or transmit personal data to the Developer, the Developer is not acting as a Data Controller or Data Processor for your personal data under Article 4 of the GDPR. All data manipulation is performed strictly locally by you on your own terminal equipment.

B. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA) Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as

amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA):

  • We have not collected, sold, or shared any consumer personal information in the preceding 12 months.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about consumers.

8. Google Play Data Safety Alignment

For transparency, the declarations in this Privacy Policy correspond directly to the Data Safety section submitted in the Google Play Console for Kronlog (com.gabrielchoong.kronlog):

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
